Clarica is a Blonde Ale from Murcia, born from the union of Yakka and the Limonar de Santomera. Made with lemons discarded for their "aesthetics," it's blonde, fresh, and has a real orchard flavor. A light, balanced beer that turns waste into a perfect drink.
Recommended pairings: Murcian-style seafood tapas, a creamy potato salad, or a delicious vegetable rice dish. Serve it with gildas (anchovy, olive, and pepper skewers) or crispy pork belly.
A third of the food grown in the world is thrown away. And of that third, in Murcia they've made a very special one: Clarica.
In the 2023/24 season, 400,000 tons of lemons were wasted in Spain alone. Perfect fruit for juicing, refreshing, and invigorating, but they ended up in the trash simply for not meeting the market's aesthetic standards. Limonar de Santomera decided to tackle the problem head-on. And together with the Yakka craft brewery, they created this audacious beer: a blonde ale made with the lemons no one wanted.
Clarica is more than just beer: it's a different way of drinking. A statement of intent against food waste and in favor of valuing authenticity.
Because even scarred lemons deserve a second life, and what better way to give it to them than inside a beer tank?
Light, bright, and with a citrusy touch reminiscent of a Murcian orchard. Each sip refreshes the body and mind.
