Enemigo Mío 2024 is that Murcian Garnacha that doesn't ask permission: pure red fruit, a floral touch, and a hint of balsamic. It grew in high-altitude plots, with minimal intervention, and goes straight to the soul. The perfect red to give to those seeking the best of Murcia.
Recommended Pairing: Fresh or semi-cured cheese, pasta with red sauces, paellas or creamy rice dishes and grilled white meats, sausages or Mediterranean stews.
Here's Enemigo Mío 2024, a signature organic Garnacha grape from La Atalaya, at the foot of the Sierra de La Pila, grown on cool, north-facing sandy-clay soils. The vineyard, barely a decade old, grows with minimal intervention—with light pruning in May and June to allow the grapes to flourish and give their best.
And the winery is called Casa Rojo: it wasn't born with vineyards, but with the utopia of making free wines, without labels or constraints, until 2015 when they planted roots in La Raja (Murcia) and now have more than 20 hectares of Garnacha, Monastrell and Syrah, all with their "creative oenology" seal.
This red wine ferments slowly in 11,000 L French foudres at around 22°C and rests for four more months in barrels to develop its own voice. Bottled in May 2024, it arrives direct, honest, and full of character.
Visual: Bright cherry red color and medium layer.
Nose: The nose is elegant and broad, with floral and balsamic tones and a predominance of fresh red fruit, accompanied by subtle tones of toffee.
Palate: A lively and fresh mid palate, due to the fruity character of the Garnacha, with a pleasant and long finish, along with light and well-integrated tannins.
