Possibly the best sardine in the world… and that's not just for show.
Caught at dawn in the Arousa estuary, at their peak, and pampered in olive oil until they reach that juicy point that makes you stop the conversation.
You open the can, pour the vermouth, and let whatever happens, happen.
At La Curiosa, they don't just make preserves; they make authentic seafood gems in cans. And these sardines are a perfect example. Sourced from the Arousa estuary, one of the most privileged areas of the Atlantic, they are caught in July and August, precisely when the sardine reaches its peak in terms of fat, flavor, and texture.
The fishing takes place at dawn, on an empty stomach, allowing for a more delicate cleaning and a much finer final product. After careful selection, the sardines are placed by hand and left to rest in olive oil, refining over time until they achieve a firm, juicy, and surprisingly tender flesh.
The result? An elegant, tasty and balanced sardine, one that doesn't need anything else... although it does go well with company.
How to enjoy them (as they deserve): Straight from the can, with good bread and a cold glass, or if you prefer to cook a little, try them on warm toast, with salted butter or grated tomato.
Ingredients: Sardines (fish), olive oil and salt. May contain traces of molluscs and crustaceans.
Recommendations: Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume within 24 hours.
