Chardonnay with an attitude.
Unzu Blanco 2024 comes from old vineyards, with French oak barrels and six months on lees. Lots of character, lots of flavor, and no chance of being the typical white wine that goes unnoticed.
Recommended Pairing: White clams, delicious variegated scallops in scallop sauce, or a soft cheese board.
Unzu Blanco 2024 is a Chardonnay with character, one of those wines that prove that a white can also have structure, depth, and a lot to say.
Made with grapes from 22 hectares of vineyards over 25 years old, located in the areas of Carratudela, Molengo, and Los Portillos, it grows on clay-limestone soils and under a continental climate softened by Atlantic influence. A good blend of soil and climate to give it personality right from the vineyard.
In the winery, they also take their time: 40% of the wine ferments in new French oak barrels, while the remaining 60% undergoes six months of aging on its lees. The result is a unctuous, structured, and complex white, yet maintaining that fresh touch that makes the bottle beg for another round.
Unzu is one of those whites that work wonderfully when the appetizer starts to get serious: clams, scallops, octopus, mild cheeses, or any Mediterranean dish that deserves a good accompaniment.
Chardonnay with vineyard, aging, and considerably more personality than it appears to have.
