Terraje is not just 100% organic Monastrell; it is the living history of Jumilla. Old, ungrafted, dry-farmed vineyards at 700 meters of altitude that speak of effort and deep roots. Delicate, pure, and with the soul of the terroir. If you understand wine as origin and truth, this is for you.
Terraje is a living history in Jumilla. Its name refers to the rent that settlers paid with a portion of their harvest to maintain the right to cultivate these lands. A gesture that, generation after generation, has allowed exceptional vineyards to be preserved since the 19th century. Behind this wine are the true viticulturists: those who work the land with effort and keep unique vines alive.
It comes from a selection of the best plots in the areas of Fuente de Las Perdices and La Cañada de Albatana. Bush-trained organic Monastrell vineyards, 30 to 40 years old, grown on ungrafted rootstock and strictly dry-farmed, at an altitude of about 700 meters.
Altitude, soil, and extreme climate define its character. The altitude provides freshness and balance; dry-farming concentrates; ungrafted rootstock maintains varietal purity. Here, Monastrell expresses itself without embellishment, with absolute respect for the terroir.
The result is a delicate and pure wine, aromatic, silky, and enveloping. More landscape than artifice. More origin than fashion.
Terraje pairs well with honest cuisine and quality produce: grilled meats, roasted lamb, traditional stews, cured cheeses, or even Mediterranean dishes with aromatic herbs. It also surprises with high-quality preserves, where its freshness and silky texture balance the intensity of the sea.
Visual: Deep cherry red with violet reflections, clean and bright.
Nose: Aromatic and profound, with ripe red and black fruit, floral notes and a mineral, Mediterranean background.
Palate: Silky and enveloping, balanced and fresh, with fine tannins and a long finish that reflects the purity of the terroir.
