Volandia is an artisanal Mencía from the Ribeira Sacra, made from old vines and aged in French oak barrels. A limited-production wine that gains complexity over time in the glass, standing out for its aromatic intensity, elegance, and balance.
Recommended pairing: Cheeses, red meats, barbecues, vegetables and greens, stews, rice dishes, and cured meats.
Volandia is a single-varietal Mencía red wine, handcrafted from old vines nestled on the steep terraces of the Ribeira Sacra. Aged in French oak barrels from renowned cooperages, this limited and numbered production wine stands out for its elegance, complexity, and aging potential.
As it opens in the glass, it reveals a range of aromas spanning from red and black fruits to floral, balsamic, and spicy notes. On the palate, it is round and silky, with a well-integrated acidity that provides liveliness and structure.
Visual: Cherry red color, clean and bright.
Nose: As it opens up in the glass, it broadens its aromatic range: cherries, blackberries, blueberries, damp earth, mushrooms, violets, jasmine. Spicy notes such as thyme and black pepper also appear, along with balsamic nuances and black licorice.
Palate: A luscious, round, and silky wine. Good integrated acidity that keeps it lively and energetic. The fruit remains in balance with the freshness, offering a long and expressive finish.
