Village festivals are another story
The unique charm of village festivals
There are things that can't be explained with words, but that anyone who has experienced them understands instantly. One of them is village festivals .
They are small celebrations, lasting only a few days, where everything revolves around the square, the peñas and those improvised bars where there is always someone asking for another round.
The smell of the roast chicken stand, the candied almonds, the hustle and bustle of those days, none of this is erased from my mind when I remember the Augusts in Riópar when I was little.

We only returned a week ago from the festivities in our village, a little over 1200 inhabitants, and we still smile when we think about it. Time is measured differently there.
Nobody looks at the clock. Midday begins with a tapa or an appetizer and a homemade vermouth , and suddenly the afternoon turns into a carousel of laughter, toasts and conversations, with the occasional broken glass along the way.
—Have you ordered another one yet? I was supposed to eat with my mother…
—So, what do I do, Paco, kill myself?
Those kinds of phrases are the soundtrack of the parties , along with the orchestra's pasodobles. And it doesn't matter if you know how to dance or not: when "¡Viva el pasodoble!" (Long live the pasodoble!) rings out, you end up arm in arm with someone you might not have even met that morning.
What's important is the people
Village festivals have that special something: they're chaotic, intense, and endearing all at once. You step out into the streets knowing you won't be going home until your body says enough is enough and you end up eating churros with chocolate.
Because what's important isn't the official program, or even the orchestra: what's important is the people. Your lifelong friends, those who only return around this time of year, the neighbors, and even the strangers who end up being adopted as one of us.
Bring that experience home with you.
And that, exactly, is what we want to convey at D'12 Gourmet : that every vermouth is like those parties, a moment without haste, full of conversations, laughter, arguments that are forgotten with another round, and that final toast that always comes with a "the last one?".
Because in the end, life tastes better when shared , whether in the town square or at home with your loved ones.
At D'12, we don't just sell vermouth or cans, we create moments. What we do is help you recreate a little bit of those endless afternoons so you can throw your own party at home , without waiting for summer or local festivals.
All you need to do is open a bottle, put something on the table, and let the conversation flow.
Because if there's one thing we're sure of, it's that what we're all about here is Vermouth & Good Vibes .
How to set up your own festival at home
If you feel as nostalgic as we do and want to recreate that feeling, there's nothing like setting up your own bar at home : artisanal vermouth to kick off the afternoon, olives , and gourmet tins. For snacking between conversations, cheeses and cured meats that are always a hit at the table...
At D'12, we've selected some of our favorites to get your party off to a smooth start. The rest is history: chatting, toasting, and saying… "one last thing?"
